Thursday Night’s Americans-Diesel Game Called Due to Rain

NIAGARA FALLS, N.Y. — The Niagara Falls Americans’ Thursday evening matchup against the Buffalo Diesel has been canceled due to rain. There is currently no makeup game scheduled. The Americans will return to action Friday night when they host the Olean Oilers for a 6:30 p.m. start. It is Casella Night at Sal Maglie Stadium, sponsored by Casella Waste Systems. The Americans lost to the Oilers, 10-2, in the first-ever matchup between the two clubs on June 13. Looking ahead to the weekend, the Americans will take on the Jamestown Tarp Skunks at Diethrick Park on Saturday at 6:30 p.m. The Tarp Skunks currently lead the season series against the Americans, three games to one. Jamestown is currently 12-5, tied with the Batavia Muckdogs for first place in the Perfect Game Collegiate Baseball League (PGCBL) West Division. On Sunday, the Americans will welcome the Elmira Pioneers into town for the first time this season. The matchup will be a doubleheader, with the first game starting at 2:05 p.m. It’s Military Appreciation Night at Sal Maglie Stadium. In 2025, the Americans and Pioneers split the season series, 3-3. The most recent matchup between the two teams took place Friday, July 25, when the Americans earned an 11-10 victory at Dunn Field. The Pioneers are currently 9-8 in 2026.
