NIAGARA FALLS AMERICANS ANNOUNCE NEW ROSTER ADDITIONS

The Niagara Falls Americans Baseball Team will kick off their inaugural season at Sal Maglie Stadium in June this summer and have officially released the signing of ten more players. OF-Gavyn Boyle (SUNY Niagara), RHP-Jesse Capitano (Keuka College), RHP/3B-Blaise Kolbert (D’Youville University), INF-Dom Mariani (Clark University), OF-Finn Parker (St. Lawrence University), INF-Isaiah Scott (Iowa Central Community College), RHP-Morgan Shanaman (SUNY Niagara), INF/OF-Rex Smith (State College of Florida), 1B-Michael Soares (Clark University), INF-Hunter Von Zelowitz (Roanoke College) will call Sal Maglie Stadium home this summer.

The SUNY Niagara pair of OF Gavyn Boyle & RHP Morgan Shanaman will help support the Americans on the mound and in the outfield this summer.  The Gasport NY native Boyle has 8 homeruns & 57 RBIs in 57 games for the Thunderwolves.  Shanaman is a from Meyerstown Pennsylvania and will be an incoming freshman at SUNY Niagara in 2025.  He played High School ball for Eastern Lebanon.

6’3 RHP Jesse Capitano born & raised in Depew New York takes the mound this summer for Niagara Falls.  Capitano is currently at Keuke College and will be a key part to the Americans in the community on and off the field as he volunteers many hours of community service with Our Lady of Pompeii Church in Lancaster NY.

RHP/3B- Blaise Kolbert adds some more local flavor to the Niagara Falls Americans roster.  Kolbert was named to All-WNY Second Team Allstars his senior year of High School compiling a .517 batting average.  In 2023 he made 12 relief appearances and recorded a 2.88 ERA with 18 strikeouts.

Clark University brings two additions for the Americans with INF-Dom Mariani & 1B-Michael Soares. Mariani is from Walpole Massachusetts and has 31RBIs in 38 games this year.  Soares is also a Massachusetts native hailing from Concord.  Soares will not only provide offense for the Americans but can contribute in the pitching rotation as well, as he saw some time on the mound for Clark University this year.

2,511 miles away from for Western NY comes OF-Finn Parker of Sonoma California.  Parker is no stranger to the Empire State playing for St. Lawrence University in Canton NY.  Parker was captain of his High School baseball team, an honor roll student, & a conference champion with Sonoma Valley.

The Americans bring on two additional infielders in Isaiah Scott & Rex Smith. Scott from Iowa Central Community College comes across the border from his hometown of Toronto Canada for the Americans.  5”10 Scott brings a .480 SLG to the team.  Scott is a duel threat player as well starting all games in the Infield for ICCC. 6’1 Freshman Rex Smith will be in all over the outfield of Sal Maglie Stadium as well this summer.  Smith is from Saraosta Florida.

Sophomore Infielder, Hunter Von Zelowitz of Roanoke College brings some offense to Americans.  The Hopewell NJ native had a .560 SLG this year for the Maroons.  Hunter played his High School ball at Princeton Day.
