Americans’ Thursday Game at Geneva Canceled Due to Weather Conditions

GENEVA, N.Y. — The Niagara Falls Americans’ matchup against the Geneva Red Wings,

scheduled for tonight at McDonough Park, has been canceled due to weather conditions. A

makeup date has not yet been announced.

Niagara Falls is coming off a 15-7 loss at Geneva on Tuesday night, after surrendering a nine-run

seventh inning. The contest marked the first meeting between the two teams this season. They


will meet again in a seven-inning doubleheader on Sunday, July 5, at Sal Maglie Stadium, with

first pitch of game one scheduled for 2:05 p.m.

The Americans will travel to Auburn, N.Y., on Friday, July 3, to take on the Auburn Doubledays

for the second time this season. First pitch is set for 6:30 p.m. Niagara Falls claimed an 11-10

walk-off victory in the clubs’ first matchup of the season on June 7 at Sal Maglie Stadium.

Auburn sits at 13-8 on the year.

Following Friday’s road contest, the Americans return to Sal Maglie Stadium on Saturday, July

4, to host the Batavia Muckdogs. After the game, there will be a fireworks show presented by the

city of Niagara Falls. Batavia, currently atop the Perfect Game Collegiate Baseball League

(PGCBL) West Division, is 17-6 on the season and holds a 3-1 season series advantage over the

Americans.
