Americans Score Double Digits for Third Straight Game, Win Third in a Row
NIAGARA FALLS, N.Y. — Powered by a seven-inning, eight strikeout performance by Greg
Orcutt, the Niagara Falls Americans defeated the Batavia Muckdogs, 11-4, on Tuesday night at
Sal Maglie Stadium.
Batavia jumped out an early lead in the top of the first, scoring one run on two hits and an error.
In the bottom of the third, the first two Niagara Falls hitters reached and advanced on a wild
pitch. David Harris then hit a two-run single, giving the Americans a 2-1 lead. Later in the frame,
Loagan Stickler plated Harris with a sacrifice fly.
Following a scoreless fourth, Evan Shank scored on a wild pitch in the fifth, increasing the
Americans’ lead to 4-1.
One hit, two walks, and a hit-by-pitch in the top of the sixth helped the Muckdogs tack on
another run. However, they left the bases loaded.
With two outs and runners in scoring in position in the bottom of the inning, Ryotaro Munkata
laced a base hit to right field, scoring two runs and extending the Americans’ lead to 6-2.
Batavia began the seventh with two consecutive singles but managed just one run on a sacrifice
fly in the inning.
Americans’starter Greg Orcutt fired seven innings, allowing three runs (two earned) on five hits,
with four walks and eight strikeouts. The outing was Orcutt’s first of the season, and he earned
the win.
After the first three Niagara Falls hitters reached in the bottom of the seventh, David Harris hit
an RBI single to right field, scoring two. Loagan Stickler later hit a bases-clearing double,
blowing the game open at 10-3.
In the eighth, Batavia recorded three hits, two of which were doubles, but managed to only add
one run, making it 10-4.
Adam Weiss singled in the bottom of the frame, scoring Ryotaro Munakata, and marking the
fourth consecutive inning the Americans scored.
Pitching in back-to-back games, Tyler Foxcroft tossed two innings out of the bullpen, allowing
one earned run on four hits with one walk and three strikeouts. This was Foxcroft’s fifth outing
of the season.
David Harris finished 2-for-4 with three RBIs, two runs scored, and one walk. Harris has now
recorded a hit in 14 consecutive games and reached base safely in 19 straight. He also has eight
RBIs in his last three games.
Justin Gladfelter went 2-for-4 with two runs, marking his fifth straight game with multiple hits.
Loagan Stickler went 2-for-2 with four RBIs, one run and a walk. Stickler has now recorded a hit
in six straight games and 16 RBIs over his last four contests.
With the win, the Americans moved to 12-24, while the Muckdogs fell to 24-8-1. Batavia now
leads the season series 5-2.

Game Livestream
Following an off-day Wednesday, the Americans will host the Jamestown Tarp Skunks on
Thursday, July 16. First pitch is scheduled for 6:30 p.m. and it is 716 Night at Sal Maglie
Stadium. The Americans are 1-4 against Jamestown this season, with the last matchup coming on
June 27—an 8-2 Tarp Skunks victory.
